Use the tools responsibly

The terms that apply when using midiviewer.io MIDI viewing, editing, playback, and conversion tools.

Last updated September 2, 2026

By using midiviewer.io, creating an account, or purchasing Credits, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Operator

midiviewer.io is operated by Luo Yao, an individual based in mainland China. Notices may be sent to support@midiviewer.io or 167 Yueji Street, Jinjiang District, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

The service

midiviewer.io provides browser-based tools for inspecting, playing, visualizing, and editing Standard MIDI files, plus an optional server-side MP3 and WAV conversion service. Features may change as the service develops. Local tools and cloud conversions have different data flows, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 to create an account, request a cloud conversion, or purchase Credits or a subscription. Browser-only viewing, inspection, playback, visualization, and editing do not require an account. Purchases may be made only by someone legally authorised to use the selected payment method. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and activity performed through your account.

Your files and rights

You keep your rights in files you use with the service. You must have the legal right to open, edit, convert, download, and share them. You grant midiviewer.io only the limited permission needed to store and process a file when you explicitly request a cloud conversion. The service does not grant you rights to music, MIDI data, trademarks, or other material owned by someone else.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to violate law or third-party rights; upload malicious or unlawful content; probe, bypass, or disrupt security or usage controls; access another person’s account or Jobs; automate abusive request volumes; resell access without permission; or use outputs in a way that falsely suggests endorsement by midiviewer.io. We may reject files or limit access when reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, or the service.

Credits, payments, and subscriptions

Prices, included Credits, renewal intervals, and taxes are shown before checkout. One accepted MP3 or WAV conversion reserves one Credit. If the renderer reaches a terminal conversion failure or timeout, the reservation is returned once. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are not a bank account or stored-value product. Subscription plans renew for the interval shown at checkout until cancelled through the Stripe Customer Portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Refunds

Automated Credit returns apply only to the terminal conversion failures described above. Payment refunds are handled according to applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction. Contact support@midiviewer.io with the account email and approximate transaction date. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer cancellation, refund, or statutory warranty rights.

Temporary files and downloads

Cloud conversion inputs and outputs are temporary. Source deletion is attempted after the Job completes or reaches a final failure. Successful outputs are available through the product for 24 hours, but an individual signed download URL expires sooner. You are responsible for downloading and securely storing any output you want to keep.

Tool limitations

MIDI contains performance instructions, not proprietary DAW instruments or effects. Interpretation and rendering can differ among software, SoundFonts, and DAWs. The Editor intentionally supports a limited set of operations. Review every edited MIDI and audio output before using it in a live, commercial, archival, safety-critical, or production workflow.

Availability and disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every MIDI file, preservation of uploaded files, or a particular musical result. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties that may otherwise apply. This paragraph does not exclude warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Responsibility and limits

You are responsible for your files, backups, account use, and decisions based on an output. To the extent permitted by law, midiviewer.io is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service. Any limitation applies only to the extent allowed in your jurisdiction and does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, fraud, security risk, unlawful activity, or harm to the service or others. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion through support, subject to records we must retain for payment, fraud, tax, dispute, or legal obligations.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material changes will be identified by a new “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, an additional notice. For service, privacy, or billing questions, contact support@midiviewer.io.
